'Fruktan och bävan' borrows its name from the Danish philosopher Søren Kierkegaard's book about the biblical myth of Abraham, who in order to prove his faith is commanded by God to sacrifice his son Isaac. Kierkegaard emphasises the anxiety and distress Abraham must have felt, and highlights the inner conflict that would have been present. Despite this anxiety, Abraham remains silent about God's command. How could he explain or justify what he must do. He needs to make what Kierkegaard describes as 'the leap of faith' by himself, in silence. This inner dialogue became the inspiration and origin of the album. The tracks consist of cyclical and dialectical events expressed through masses of timbre – electronic stems which modulate and inflate one another.
